In 2014 owner Shawn Borelli began investing in real estate – buying distressed and foreclosed properties in Berks County, rehabbing and renovating each property, and managing them as rental properties.

The properties purchased often required renovating kitchens and bathrooms, hanging and/or repair drywall, painting, flooring, decking, fencing, and other general repairs.

ProCore Contracting, LLC was created so that Shawn could offer his skills, knowledge, and construction experience to home owners, business owners, and other real estate investors.

Beginning as early as 8 years old, owner Shawn Borelli was helping his step dad work in his construction business. Shawn spent most of his summers helping on job sites and working in the wood shop with his step dad. He later began working with his neighbor, who also had a contracting business – building decks and finishing basements as a summer job in high school.

Shawn’s father was an appliance repair man at Boscov’s for 24 years, before starting his own appliance repair company when Shawn was in high school. When Shawn didn’t have construction work, he often spent his days on the road with his dad, making service calls to fix plumbing and appliances all over Eastern PA.

Shawn graduated from Penn State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His education included great depth of study in mathematics, physics, analytical problem-solving, heat & fluid transfer and materials science. Shawn’s education translates well into the world of general contracting – with great understanding of the building process, a “get the job done right” mentality, and attention to the smallest details to create an amazing finished product.
